AMD Ryzen Specs and Pre-Order

The long anticipated launch of AMD Ryzen processors were announced today with specifications and preorder details. After four years of development, AMD has finally released pricing and specification details for their new lineup of processors, giving PC gamers and system builders access to a new platform that competes and in some cases out performs their competitor’s products.

The three Ryzen 7 processors listed above feature 8 cores and 16 threads, and they are all unlocked allowing you to overclock the processor, assuming appropriate cooling is applied. As you can see from the chart above, the higher end SKUs will not come with a stock cooler, much like Intel’s enthusiast line.

The pricing of the new processors appears to be set to undercut the competing Intel processor, in the case of the 1800X by about 50%.
