Among many other announcements from the Microsoft Event 2019 comes the Surface Duo, a dual screen foldable smart phone running Android.
This new mobile device, which should be available during the holiday 2020 shopping season, features two 5.6″ displays, and is foldable, giving you the ultimate productivity in a smart phone device.
Rather than attempting to resurrect the Windows 10 Mobile software, Microsoft have decided to partner with Google to use the Android Operating System on this device. This is a great partnership as this new phone will have the capability of running all of the existing Android apps available in the Google Play Store.
Microsoft’s attempts at a smart phone in the past have failed, mainly due to the lack of third party apps in the Microsoft Store and poor integration with already present devices. But with the constant update to Windows 10 and Android integration, this could potentially be one of the best mobile experiences for Windows and Android users.
The device is expected to be available for the 2020 holiday season.
